Harold Beament, RCA was an official Canadian war artist with the Royal Canadian Navy and held the highest service rank of any Canadian artist in the Second World War. As a highly respected artist, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy (ARCA 1936, RCA 1947, Pres. 1964–1967). Beament's work is included in the public collection of the National Gallery of Canada. The Canadian War Museum is home to over 70 of his paintings
